How Engagements Work
Engagements are intentionally designed to be short, scoped and independent. This work exists to support decision-making, not to create long-term dependency.
What an Engagement Is
Most engagements include:
-
A defined advisory question or decision area
-
A limited time window
-
Review of relevant materials, data and context
-
Structured conversations with senior leadership
-
Written findings or recommendations
-
A clear conclusion
The goal is clarity, not continuation.
Typical Engagement Structures
-
Decision-Support Advisory: Focused review tied to a specific decision.
-
Organizational Assessment: Short-term review of roles, alignment and authority
-
Interim Advisory Support: Limited support during leadership transition
-
Second-Opinion Review: Independent assessment of existing plans or proposals

All engagements are virtual-first, with optional, limited travel if appropriate.
How Engagements Conclude
Every engagement includes:
-
A defined end date
-
A final deliverable or summary
-
No obligation to extend
-
No expectation of follow-on work

If additional support is appropriate, it is discussed as a new, separate engagement.
What an Engagement Is Not
The work does not include:
-
Campaign execution
-
Staff management
-
Ongoing operational responsibility
-
Open-ended consulting
-
"Embedded" roles without boundaries
Recommendations may include further action, but execution is handled separately.
Compensation & Scope
-
Flat fee or capped engagements
-
Clear scope defined upfront
-
No success-based or contingent fees
-
Paid monthly or upfront
-
Confidential and independent

Engagements are designed to end.
